-This is something that the San Diego Zoo does quite well. Landscaping is very realistic in most of the pens. Unfortunately, labeling
is often poor or misleading. One pen similar to this contained a number of species of rattlesnakes, but was labeled merely "Rattlesnakes."
- This is an example of some of the poor
labeling in this exhibit. Both individuals in this enclosure were Xanthic (yellow), lacking the darker pigments in their skin.
Yet, there was no indication of this in the labeling of the cage, leading the public to believe that this is their normal color in the wild.
