Rattlesnakes as A Commodity

NOTE: I originally published this page because I received a number of requests for information on skinning, dressing, cooking, and tanning rattlesnakes. I do not condone the indiscriminate taking of wild rattlesnakes for food, skins, or trophy items. However, I felt that publication of this information was justified in the interest of presenting all sides of the rattlesnake's story

After quite a bit of discussion with others in the herpetology community who felt that the information published here would encourage the practice of rattlesnake roundups, I have removed the information on rattlesnake cookery and sources for rattlesnake meat.

If you feel you have a legitimate reason to have this information, send me email and I will consider passing it on to you directly.

You can still access the information on Tanning Snake Skins
